BluSpecs monthly newsletter – June edition 🌐

This month, we bring you the latest updates from cutting-edge initiatives, industry collaborations, and digital transformation strategies designed to shape the future of technology and business.

How is digital transformation reshaping the future of employment? 💼

  • Between 2019-2024, the number of jobs posted online in Spain has dramatically increased.

  • The largest demand for jobs was those that involved AI and generative AI.

  • Jobs such as data analyst have seen a 317% increase in job offers.

  • Softs skills are fundamental. 67% of job descriptions in 2024 included ‘agility’ and 30% ‘analytical thinking’ as a requirement. Yet only 12% of candidates for digital ICT roles include such skills in their profiles.

We joined DigitalES in Madrid for the launch of the third “X-ray of Emerging Jobs and Sectors” a comprehensive look at the evolving Spain’s labour market. Experts from EY, Bosch and Huawei revealed how automation is now embedded in daily operations and how companies are reimagining training, from micro credentials to skills-mapping, to keep up with digital change.

What happens when researchers, hospitals, and tech experts from across Europe come together to rethink the future of human-tech collaboration? 💡

We came together with the TechConnect team for a milestone meeting hosted by Mälardalen University and Region Västmanland, for two intense and inspiring days of sharing, learning, and planning. From AI in pathology to hospital workflows, from real-world case studies to the design of the TechConnect Index.

  • It’s not just about technology: it’s about people.

  • It’s about designing tools that actually work for those who use them.

  • It’s about building a future where human and digital skills truly complement one another.

With workshops led by Brendan Rowan, our Managing Consultant and insights from healthcare innovators, the event reinforced the project’s core mission: to ensure technology truly complements, rather than disrupts, human expertise.

Inclusion Is Innovation: Women in Digital Forum launches in Brussels 👩‍💻

We joined EU leaders, educators, and tech innovators at the official launch of the Women in Digital Forum in Brussels. Backed by the EU’s DIGITAL Programme, this high-level platform addresses the urgent need to close the gender gap in digital fields, where women currently make up just 19% of ICT specialists.

The Forum’s goal? Tackle barriers from education to leadership. Roundtables spotlighted bold strategies, while two new working groups on ICT education and leadership empowerment are now open to join. Achieving the Digital Decade’s 2030 goal of 20 million ICT specialists simply isn’t possible without women.

ELADAIS final event: A vision for the future of digital health 🔎

After two years of collaboration, ELADAIS held its final event at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a showcase of what’s possible when cloud, AI and secure data interoperability come together in healthcare. With the participation of different partners, the project has connected research, hospitals and industry and set a new benchmark in cloud-base healthcare data services in Europe.

Data-driven competitiveness 📊

We hosted a powerful session on “Data-Driven Competitiveness,” revealing how LEADSx2030 is turning thousands of jobs with advanced digital skills into actionable intelligence for Europe’s digital skills strategy. HeadAI unpacked the LEADSx2030 data model and dashboard, which maps evolving “skill pockets” across fields like AI, cybersecurity, and automation. With data from over 10k jobs and growing, the tool helps education providers, policymakers, and companies forecast future demand. The live dashboard offers real-time insights and cross-domain comparisons highlighting critical gaps in emerging areas like edge computing.
